On Wednesday, detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch made an arrest in a murder that happened last week on F Street NE.
Around 10:18 a.m. Jan. 23, officers responding to a report of a shooting on the 1600 block of F Street NE found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (DC FEMS) also came to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
On Wednesday, January 29, 2020, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 36-year-old Jimmy Beynum, of Northeast.
On Wednesday, January 29, 2020, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, a 27-year-old Northeast man was arrested by of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF), and charged with First Degree Murder while Armed.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
