Eastern High School’s Lady Ramblers Basketball team is in it to win it. On Sunday, March 3, they’ll play for the DC State Athletic Association (DCSAA) State Basketball Championship.
An all-ages team out of the Capitol Hill high school, the Lady Ramblers dispatched first seed Model Secondary on Wednesday with relative ease, posting a score of 47 to 36, after defeating Washington International 31 to 20 on Tuesday.
The Lady Ramblers secured a place in the championship game by defeating National Collegiate Prep in Thursday’s semi-final game at Georgetown University.

On Sunday, the ninth-seed Eastern Ramblers will face the second-seeded Banneker Bulldogs. The Ramblers face a team on a roll. Banneker defeated Ballou 64-35 in the quarterfinals and won the semifinal versus KIPP College Prep 52 to 25.
Eastern Athletic Coordinator Torrance J. Hill said that the Ramblers were ready. “We feel confident heading into Sunday’s game against Banneker. We have faced them twice this year so [we’re] familiar with their program,” he said. “[We’re] looking forward to a competitive game from both teams.”
