January is at an end. For many with school-aged children, now is the time to think about summer camp.
Enter the J.O. Wilson Summer Camp Fair, on January 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at J.O. Wilson Elementary (660 K St. NE). Now in its fifth year, the fair features summer camp options for kids aged 3-18, featuring more than 45 different programs.
It’s the only event of its kind in the District, a one-stop shopping for camp experiences for you and your child that offers a chance to look at offerings, pick up some swag, and ask questions of program representatives.

January is an excellent time to think about camps, because registration for camps starts soon, and many fill up quickly. For instance, for programs at DC Department of Parks and Recreation opens February 25. Those wanting to attend Smithsonian programs can start ing as early as February 15.
At the fair, attendees can take advantage of early-bird registration rates and try their luck at raffles. ission is free; refreshments are available for purchase.
